Our First Remote Podcast!

We’ve been doing the Teller County Sheriff’s Podcast for quite a while now, and we’ve passed many milestones. Today marks another exciting first for us. We recorded our first podcast from a remote location! I’ve yet to edit it, but I can tell you that the original recording came out GREAT!

The podcast took place in the conference room of the City Hall of the City of Victor. I really must pass on my sincerest thanks to City Administrator Richard Mann for arranging the space and for participating in the podcast itself. In it we welcomed and talked with the new Fire Chief of the Victor Volunteer Fire Department, Ryan Haines.

Commander Couch hosted the podcast and Sheriff Mikesell joined in with Mr. Mann and Chief Haines. Deputy Bunting also attended but we unfortunately ran out of microphones. Everyone agreed that this was a lot of fun and a great way to get a change of scenery.

We had been throwing around the idea of a remote podcast kit in the office, so I finally got around to building one. It can be set up in 30-45 minutes and supports participation by four people. At some point I’ll make a description video and post it here.

On a personal note, Victor is a fascinating place with a rich history. I always love getting the chance to visit there.

The podcast can be found at the Podcast page of the Teller County Sheriff’s webpage.
